Circle Drive seeks to model the life of JESUS when He said in Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” We consider it an incredible privilege to serve JESUS and others. Circle Drive does so through various ministries.
The Thanksgiving Feast is one of the highlights of our church year where the whole church works together to provide for our community. Every year, 150+ members of Circle Drive join together in a remarkable display of service and unity. On the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving, a traditional Thanksgiving meal is prepared and served to those in need. Through the years, literally thousands of persons have been fed. Last year, we fed over 800 persons from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Also, part of our Thanksgiving Feast is our coat, glove, and hat giveaway. Members of our church bring in hundreds of coats & gloves (some members go to local stores and purchase new coats & gloves). Some members knit caps. So after our guests have finished their meal, they are invited to visit our classrooms to get free coats, gloves and hats for the winter months. (Recipes)
Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, is another way our Circle Drive family serves JESUS and people. In November, members bring in hundreds of shoe boxes filled with supplies for needy children around the world. It is quite a scene when we have our time of commitment at the conclusion of the worship service – people coming to the church altar, and “stacking” their shoe boxes in a wonderful demonstration of love for JESUS and for children.
White Christmas is an annual event at Circle Drive. Several weeks before Christmas, at the conclusion of the morning worship service, people bring white shopping sacks filled with canned goods and lay them on the altar. The next day, a team of volunteers create “Christmas boxes” to be delivered to needy families.
Christians in Action (CIA) provides an opportunity for all of our church family to be involved in the ministry of Circle Drive. By volunteering time during the week, our members help our pastoral staff do the work of the ministry.
